Ny Swarovski SLC HD

I juni 2010 lanserte Swarovski to nye eksemplarer i sin nye generasjon SLC-serie. Så langt er det introdusert to nye modeller, men det vil antageligvis komme flere.

Modellene er:
- Swarovski SLC 8x42 HD
- Swarovski SLC 10x42 HD

De viktigste punktene:
- Kroppen er laget i magnesium, et metall som er lettere og sterkere enn aluminium.
- Lavere vekt (enn utgående SLC-modeller)
- Optikken har fluorittglass, noe som øker skarphet, kontrast, bedrer fargegjengivelsen og gir bedre skumringsegenskaper
- Meget kort nærgrense på kun 1,9 meter
- Bredt synsfelt (8x42: 136 m / 10x42: 110 m)
- Ny og forbedret fokuseringsmekanisme (i forhold til utgående SLC-modeller)

Large field of view
The SLC 42 HD stands out in comparison to other binoculars due to its larger exit pupil distance. This enables spectacle wearers to enjoy the entire wide-angle field of view and to benefit in full from the crystal-clear images provided by the new SLC HD. The SLC 8x42 HD, for instance, gives a 136 metre field of view, providing the best overview in its class. The removable twist-in eyecups are individually adjustable in three stages.

New focusing mechanism
The new focusing wheel with its unique combination of hard and soft components guarantees stability and grip, whatever the weather. The focusing mechanism is particularly smooth and free of play, allowing it to be operated easily and precisely in all situations, even when wearing gloves. Just a single turn sets the SLC HD to any distance, enabling you to quickly and purposefully obtain a sharp image for reliably identifying your quarry. Whether on cold, moonlight nights or during a safari under the burning desert sun – the short, precise movements of the new focusing mechanism provide crystal-clear images at any distance. The new focusing mechanism enables a correction for defective vision of at least 6 dpt. It also offers a built-in dioptre adjustment of +/- 4 dpt to compensate for different visual acuity in each eye. This enables the binoculars to be adjusted to individual levels of visual acuity when used without spectacles.

Compact and robust
MAGNESIUM HOUSING – LIGHT AND ROBUST
Every gram counts, especially during long periods of observation or on arduous expeditions. An innovative magnesium housing makes a significant contribution to keeping weight as low as possible, without impacting on robustness or optical qualities. The result: the new SLC 42 HD weighs only around 800 grams (28.5 oz) – ideal for creating a lighter rucksack und for pleasant, fatigue-free observation.
OPTIMISED ERGONOMICS – SLENDER AND COMPACT

Optimised coating
The enhanced coatings of the lenses and prisms (SWARODUR, SWAROTOP, SWAROBRIGHT) support the effect of the HD lenses. For reliable identification, even in twilight. The SWAROCLEAN coating on the outer surface of the lens provides an anti-stick effect, making it easier to clean away dirt such as water marks, insect repellents or tree resin

High-performance HD optics
Fluoride-containing HD lenses minimise the colour fringing that is unavoidable with conventional types of glass.
